Abundant evidence demonstrates that when people are involved in planning and implementing the changes affecting them, implementation is smoother, faster, and less stressful. My work supports clients in sharing authority, knowledge, and influence so that all members of the organization can choose to accept responsibility and participate fully in the workplace.
All of us come to work each day wanting the same things - an ability to make a difference, to contribute, to be appropriately challenged, and to get credit for a job well done. Too often, however, the work systems in which we function have been designed to prevent us from achieving those simple goals. Rather than blaming individual performers, I focus my attention on improving processes and patterns in the workplace.
I want to help clients create a high degree of coherence throughout their organizations, from mission and strategy to elements such as communication, business processes, and rewards. The result is a high degree of alignment and clarity throughout their enterprises, facilitating high performance and the attainment of organizational goals.
Cookie-cutter approaches don't work because every person, every team, and every enterprise is uniquely situated in this world. I will listen carefully, assess my clients' needs, understand their objectives, and develop approaches that fit each organization's specific constraints, desires, and opportunities.
The "bottom line" means different things in different organizations. I work to deeply understand our clients' long-range aspirations and short-term business objectives - both measurable and less tangible.
I attempt to engage in highly collaborative relationships in which responsibilities are shared and where my services result in value, as determined by feedback from you, the client. Because my work is highly collaborative, trust is central to the relationship. I pledge to build trust by dealing openly and honestly. This means soliciting feedback in every aspect of our work as well as providing honest feedback to my clients and being willing to confront difficult issues.
